Remote switch/ON-OFF Timer

Description

Electronic switch that allows you to control devices remotely with a TV control. With some "shortcut keys" you can turn on-off the backlight of the blue LCD screen, to know the current date and time; the light and the electric plug in the room.

In addition, the device includes the option of timing on-off. The timer is set through an intuitive menu displayed on the LCD screen and managed with the same TV control.



Functions:

  • Timer: allows you to set a certain working time to turn other devices on and off at the specific time.

  • Remote control: turn electrical devices on and off from anywhere in your room.

  • Clock: view the current date and time.

How to use it?

Remote control

  • Turn ON/OFF ligth, first turn off the room light from the light switch. Then press number 1 key of the TV control to turn room light either on or off.

  • Turn ON/OFF electric plug, first set the electric plug switch to the position II. Then press number 3 key of the TV control to turn electric plug either on or off.

Clock

To visualize the current date and time just press number 2 key of the TV control to turn backlight display on or off. This data will be kept even if there's no energy due a small battery inside.

Timer

Next steps are needed to timer either electric plug (TOMACORRIENTE) or room light (BOMBILLO).

  1. Turn on the display backlight by pressing number 2 key of the TV control.

  2. Enter to the timer menu by pressing the MENU key of the TV control.

  3. Choose the electrical item to timer (either electrical outlet or room light) and the type of timer: TIMER ON, to turn the element on after the time has elapsed or TIMER OFF, to turn the element off after the time has elapsed. To change options use the up and down (PR) keys of the TV control.

  4. Select the timer mode chosen by pressing the OK key of the TV control.

  5. Increase or decrease the desired time using the up and down keys (PR) of the TV control. This time will change in half hour intervals.

  6. Set the time chosen by pressing the OK key of the TV control.

After performing the steps above, an icon of a light bulb or electrical plug will appear in the upper right corner (depending on the electrical item you chose); this indicates that the timer has been set correctly.

The next flow chart shows the steps explained above to set the timer function.


Cancel timer

The timer configured can be canceled at any time. The next steps show how to cancel the TOMACORRIENTE - TIMER OFF timer. This steps are the same for the other three timer options.

  1. Turn on the display backlight by pressing number 2 key of the TV control.

  2. Enter to the timer menu by pressing the MENU key of the TV control.

  3. Choose the timer option configured. Use the up and down (PR) keys of the TV control to change the timer menu. The timer selected can be easly found by lookig at the lower righr corner, an icon will be shown in that position when the timer is active .

  4. Select the timer configured by pressing the OK key of the TV control.

  5. A confirmation message will appear. If you are sure to cancel the timer, press OK key, else press MENU key twice to exit to the clock displays.

  6. When a timer is canceled, its icon at the upper right corner will be removed on the clock display.



Improvements

  • Bluetooth connection: including this, electronic items can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the house and not just in the room.

  • WIFI connection: this allow you control the electronic device from anywhere in the world while it's connected to internet. What this means is that you can control electric items of your room even if you're not there.

  • Extra sensors: light, door, window, movement sensors and others can be inclueded to automate the room. For example, with a light sensor the electronic device can detect when is dark and turn on the room light. Door and window sensor might activate an alarm when a intruder is bothering. Besides, if a WIFI connection is included the state of this sensors can be monitored anywhere.

Those and many other improvements can be done depending on your needs and what you want.
